Is netplay possible in new svns

Can we use Netplay to play the new mario online with the current svn.
Also what would be the best svn for Netplay.

edit: tryed starting a netplay game with the new mario and i picked the game and pressed host and it says "connection request.. connection accepted" for me, but my friend couldnt connect. there were no error messages or anything. on his side when he pressed connect it didnt do anything.

And ya i made sure the port are forwarded properly. so im not sure whats going on.

that version of dolphin cant even play the game.
also shouldnt the p2p work with the newer svns as well.

my problem that my friend cannot connect to me. but theres not errors or anything on either side.
nothing happens when he presses connect.
