Hi! Long time lurker and first time I'm posting.
I've got a laptop and would like to know what my max settings would be, while keeping 60fps, in Melee and then Brawl. Or how I could get around to figuring it out. Maybe raising the resolution and then Anti-Aliasing? What backend should I use? Some pointers would be great. Thanks!

Specs:
Intel i7 6500U 3.0GHz
Nvidia GeForce 940mx
12GB RAM DDR4
Windows 10 Pro
Dolphin Build: 5.0

Your CPU is a 'U' variant, meaning it has a very low thermal threshold before throttling. Fortunately, it's a very recent CPU so that's not too bad. You should be able to handle Melee, Brawl and Project M at 2x or 3x Internal resolution since those games are super easy to emulate. Just make sure that Dolphin is using your nvidia GPU by making a profile for it in nvidia control panel.

I wouldn't be surprised if your CPU wasn't good enough to play games like Xenoblade or Super Mario Galaxy due to the thermal throttling though. The one 'U' variant CPU I've tested Dolphin on ran a good amount of games fine, but would choke on many of the popular games simply because they had the unfortunate problem of being pretty intensive to emulate.

Thanks! Asus seems to have gotten some pretty good cooling into the laptop, so it rarely gets hot, so that's a plus.

I haven't played through all of Xenoblade Chronicles using Dolphin; but at least up to Gaur Plains I am getting ~45FPS/90VPS game speed at 2x IR with my Lenovo E560 (Intel 6200U with HD 520). I haven't tried out Super Mario Galaxy, but it will probably run decently. The only issue that Xenoblade has with my laptop is frequent shader stuttering; but IIRC this is normal.

EDIT: My mistake, 3x on my desktop, 2X on my laptop. Make sure to use OpenGL backend and enable "GPU texture decoding"' if you are using your Nvidia GPU to make the most of your weaker CPU!
