I checked an old thread and mine wasn't on the list period, so to get noticed I'll ask here.

Disk Drive- ST500LT012-1DG142

DVD/CD-ROM drive- MATSHITA DVD-RAM UJ8E2Q

I don't know which one you guys need to verify the answer, so I'll list both.

Thanks in advance!

AFAIK there was a thread with a list of supported drives that can rip games directly.
Rig 1: Windows 10 Home | AMD A6-1450 @ 600/1000/1400 MHz | AMD Radeon HD Graphics 8250 | 4GB RAM | HP Pavilion TouchSmart 11.

Rig 2: Windows 10 Pro | Intel Core i7-2640M @ 780/2800/3500 MHz | Intel HD 3000 Mobile | 8GB RAM | Dell Latitude 6320.

Yup led me to that thread, everything else said straight up yes or no. which is obviously wrong if that thread is true. Does anything bad happen if it won't rip the disc, or can I do it risk-free to find out myself?

You can try, risk-free. If it doesn't work, RawDump/FriiDump will throw an error and that's all...
Avell A70 MOB: Core i7-11800H, GeForce RTX 3060, 16 GB DDR4-3200, Windows 11 (Insider Preview)
ASRock Z97M OC Formula: Pentium G3258, GeForce GT 440, 16 GB DDR3-1600, Windows 10 (22H2)
