Hello dolphin forums, I'm wondering if my current computer can run Dolphin
Its current specs:
Intel core i5 at 3.3 ghz
8 gigabytes of generic factory RAM (DDR3)
"Intel® HD integrated graphics family"(this is what the hardware manager lists as the GPU, it is obviously not a dedicated GPU unit)

I don't need the emulator to operate completely flawlessly, I just want to run my old GC games at a half-decent level of appearance and at a comfortable fps level.

Thank you!

Quote:Don't list your specs and then run off. Listing your specs (PC hardware information) and then asking what speeds you should expect would not be a valid post. Other things are needed from you, like exactly which games you want to play and what level of graphic detail you want or expect. Depending on the game, full-speed can be achieved on an average PC or the game could need a PC that is very powerful. It's not a simple all yes or all no answer (unless your PC is really outdated), so give more details when you post.

What DefenderX said. Which specific games do you want to run anyway? What graphical quality do you want?

What's the exact model number. It might be capable of handling the most demanding games depending on which i5 you have. The Intel HD 3000 (I think that's the one you most likely have) should be able to handle 1x Internal Resolution and sometimes 2x depending on the game, but if you want HD gameplay or enhancements like Anti-Aliasing, you'll need a dedicated GPU.

My apologies for not following the posting rules, it was certainly not my intention to violate them.

The i5 processor in my machine is a higher end one, though my system profiling software refuses to inform me of the exact model, and after some further hardware profiling, the dedicated graphics unit is indeed the HD 3000

The game in question that I would like to be able to emulate is Wind Waker, and the preferable graphical options at which I would run it would simply be with progressive scan enabled, otherwise default.

I'm not really looking for anti-aliasing and other graphical frills, I would just like to run the game in its native state at a comfortable fps rate.

Nice.

If u overclock your CPU to 4.2/4.3GHz, you should be able to handle nearly all games very well Wink

Make sure you're using the settings in the link below (enhancements tab), your crappy Intel graphics are going to slow you down otherwise.

If you have enough money, pls buy a dedicated GPU (e.g. the GeForce GTX 660 Ti). Only with a decent GPU you're able to play games in FullHD with Anti-Aliasing and other enhancements.
