Is multiplayer still not a thing in Android?

I decided to ask this after I noticed that no one is asking about multiplayer in Android

The type of multiplayer that exists on real consoles should work about as well as in the PC version of Dolphin. You'll have to deal with NAND stuff manually if you want to play online, though.

JosJuice, by any chance do you have an guesstimate as to when Netplay like PC will be implemented to Android?
