Hi everyone,
Im a newbie here. I have a question.

Im playing Wind Waker in dual core laptop with AMD Llano A4 3300M (4 GB RAM) at 30 FPS. The speed is fast and playable in both 1.9 Ghz (Normal Maximum Clock) and 2.5 Ghz (Turbo boost Overclock).

1. My concern is... is my laptop hardware safe to play for straight 4 hours in overclock setting of 2.5 Ghz?

2. or should I just play it in 1.9 Ghz (Normal Maximum Clock) setting ?

Note:

The Temperature in 5 minutes of gameplay in 2.5 Ghz setting is 62 Degrees Celius or 143.6 Fahrenheit.

The Temperature in 5 minutes of gameplay in 1.9 Ghz setting is 60 Degrees Celius or 140 Fahrenheit.

Have you tried playing for 20 or 30 minutes? Your games should start lagging so I guess it could keep you from playing 4 hours long

Those temps sound fine. Do you mean you overclocked it manually or are you talking about turbo core (which automatically raises the clock rate up to 2.5GHz)?

If you're talking about turbo core that's not the same as overclocking. Turbocore will automatically reduce the clock rate if you're temperature or power consumption gets too high. So as long as you're using turbocore (which should be set by default) you're safe.

Yeah, the laptop was made to run with the features it has, why would using the laptop as intended hurt it at all? The only way something is going to go wrong is if you start messing with overclocking or the hardware fails for some odd reason. I have a similar setup and play GTA4 and games using Dolphin for hours with no issues.
