Shocked
I'm about to start playing Skyward Sword on Dolphin and I plan on taking a lot of screenshots (to be used in a YouTube video later).

I'll be playing on the couch, with my real Wiimote+. My (wired) keyboard won't be anywhere close. So I'd like it if I could take a screenshot with a simple press of Up on the D-pad. (That's not used for anything else afaik.)

I tried this in the Hotkey window, but no luck there. Does that mean Dolphin doesn't support this? (I run Dolphin 4.0.2 btw.)
And if so, is there a way around it? Thanks a lot!!

Thanks for the tip! I tried GlovePIE, with the simple code "Key.Z = Wiimote1.Up" (and screenshots mapped to Z).
But Dolphin did not like that. It kept disconnecting the Wiimote+. So alas...

My alternative is rearrange my PC and place it in my living room for a few weeks, so the keyboard is within reach. The other option would be to run a 2nd Wiimote through GlovePIE...

Thanks though. Any other tips?

Edit: tried a 2nd Wiimote... and it crashed GlovePIE. I blame GlovePIE and CCjoy for messing up my previous PC... Byebye GlovePIE!

Well, when you are completely out of options you can use some screen capturing software to create a video of you playing your games in Dolphin, and then use video editing software to gain pictures out of the video (your screenshots). Can be done with completely free software, but takes a lot more time. I can imagine though that you prefer this than having to press buttons while your are trying to play.

Just change the screenshot key to Spacebar or Num0. It works fine, and you can hit it with your pinky as you play.

Only I posted that I'm using a real Wiimote+. And I want to play on the couch.

I ended up moving my PC into my living room, so I can reach the keyboard.
Wouldn't running a video capture program heavily influence performance of Dolphin?

No but you can test it yourself by comparing performance of Dolphin with or without any video capturing software. There also is a video capturing future inside Dolphin, (emulation tab --> start capture (fifth from above) you should try that first as that would be of course a little smaller difference in Dolphin performance.
I have captured my Dolphin gameplay a few times and did not see any difference in performance.

After you have created a video, you can use Windows Live Movie Maker to get screenshots out of the video. I used the same program for video editing on my Windows 7 desktop. It is freeware.
