Hi, dolphin is really an amazing piece of software but the way he support game controller really could be improved. I also use use retroarch and if dolphin was able to manage gamepad the same way it will be awesome. I mean hotplug support, autodetect gamepad and autoload the correct profile. In dolphin if you unplug the gamepad in the middle of a game you cannot replug it to continue your game, the same if you want a second player to join you in the middle of the game you cannot plug a second gamepad because it will be not recognized. It's really the thing that miss me the much to enjoy the same experience as the original console.

Yes you can, you just need to refresh the controllers

I should have give more detail, I use dolphin on my htpc, launching game from xbmc, so no keyboard and no dolphin gui. In this usage actual way of managing gamepad is a pain in the ass.
