Is dolphin fuly compatible with external SD cards?

What I'm asking is if dolphin supports the kit Kat API's necessary to load Roms from the external card. Buying the shield soon and I figure the external storage is gonna be necessary.

As far as I know, any app can fully read external SD card in KitKat if it have proper permissions (and Dolphin does). What doesn't work in KitKat is writing to external SD card (unless it's a system app). Anyway, Dolphin always read/write its settings and saves in internal SD card, so it shouldn't be an issue...

Oh OK I wasn't aware that reading had no permission requirements. That solves the issue.

Reading requires READ_EXTERNAL_STORAGE permission. Writing requires WRITE_EXTERNAL_STORAGE which also grants read permission.
