Is anyone running Steam Controller on Linux?

I have this working in Windows, but I'm having a helluva time getting this working on my Debian Jessie & Stretch machines.

The basic set up (just like in Windows):
  • I create shortcut to dolphin-emu in steam
  • I switch to Big Picture Mode
  • I uncheck "Allow Desktop Configuation in Launcher"
  • I launch my Dolphin Emulator shortcut
  • Dolphin open and I go to configure controllers

I'm used to seeing "XInput/0/Gamepad" in Windows, but in Linux, the Steam Controller isn't listed here. I see my 3 other Logitech F310 controllers, keyboard, & mouse. I've done a lot of Googling and the best I can come up with is changing permissions on the uinput file (chmod 666 /dev/uinput). Once the permissions are changed, I can see /evdev/0/Microsoft X-Box 360 pad (which makes the right pad a trackpad). I mean, yay, I'm happy that I can use my steam controller as a trackpad, but there's gotta be a way to make it show up as a gamepad. Right?! Has anyone else had to deal with this?

Or at least let me know if this works on a different distro. I'd really appreciate it. Thanks!

Edit: I stumbled across this open source project, Kozek's sc-controller: https://github.com/kozec/sc-controller

It took a bit of troubleshooting to get it installed and it's a bit buggy (I have to toggle emulation on/off at times), but it works really well. It's probably better than Steam Overlay (when it's not being buggy).

I'm still interested in getting Steam Overlay working though. Please let me know if you have gotten it to work for you in Linux!
