IR wont work on hybrid?

I have a wii remote plus (-tr), and a homemade perfectly working ir sensor bar but i dont have a nunchuck so i use the hybrid mode for emulating it, when i emulate it, the ir wont work on my wiimote, is there some way to make it work?
