IR in Super Mario Galaxy stop working right - wtf?

It played perfectly fine and now when I aim the IR over the stars they don't collect! Then when I try to shoot they shoot directly to the side of the screen. I've gone through all the configs, actually d/l another dolphin from the dev options and replaced mine and still no luck. It's like the emulated IR sensor is messed up. Anyone know how to fix this?

You need to make sure "skip efb access from CPU" is unchecked in the graphics tab/hacks

So that fixed it but it's playing slower than before. Seems like it made my performance worse. Is that expected?

It's because you checked skip EFB Access to CPU. Wiki has more explanation as to why.
