I get this in some games I try to open?

Try redump the games. According to a Google search people have advised this in the past for this issue.

That seemed to fix Darkened Skye, not Whirl Tour.

That's a step in the right direction at least. I dunno about Whirl Tour though.
Try reinstall Dolphin and see if that changes anything after the redump of Whirl Tour, might be something funny lying around. |
