Intense lag with newer versions

Hello everyone, Ive been using dolphin for about a year now. I'm currently using version 5.0-9470 and it runs very well, all games run as they should. However, when I updated to the next version and every subsequent version since, I've experienced constant lag with all games running at about half speed. 9470 for me runs all games perfectly and has no lag issues at all. When I changed versions, I made sure that all of the settings were the same and they are. 5.0-11516 is the latest version and it still behaves the same. What can I do to fix this? Thank you.

Nothing major has changed performance wise since then. I suggest bisecting to an exact build.

Forgive my lack of understanding, but what do you mean by "bisecting to an exact build"?

Bisecting means you always test the version in the middle of the 2 versions with the difference. This way you only need to do like 10 tests to find out exactly which version made it run slower.
