Osnews reported that there are some things you may not know, but you should probably need to know - especially you are a programmer, in particular, you use the Intel compiler - Intel's compiler will deliberately undermine the performance of the non-Intel processors . This is the Intel one of anti-competitive dirty tricks. Intel's compiler will produce different code fragments for different processors or different instruction set (SSE2, SSE3, etc.) be optimized. The system will detect running CPU, and then choose accordingly optimized code path, Intel said such Methods for the CPU scheduler. But the secret lies in not just check the CPU scheduler to support the instruction set, also check the vendor ID number. If the identification code is GenuineIntel, it then will use the optimized code; if not, it will choose the slowest version of the code. the same processor, if you modify the identification code, compiled out of the performance test procedures in considerable changes, such as the processor CPUID will VIANano into GenuineIntel, performance actually improved 47.4%. This is the a serious problem. Fortunately, the recent AMD and Intel reached an antitrust settlement, the problem has been partially resolved, at least for AMD users to be so.

next time, include the source.
http://www.osnews.com/story/22683/Intel_..._Compiler_ fuck intel lol OSnews Wrote:God knows how many benchmarks have been skewed in favour of Intel simply because people unknowingly used Intel's compiler in good faith. Intel's compiler is seen as the cream of the crop and delivers superior performance, but apparently only if you stick to GenuineIntel.

fuck amd lol. Now doesn't that sound arrogant to have it blasted back on the other side? Lol jking
In Seriousness, Good work AMD. As long as there is "equality" then competition will keep development on both sides going strong. Pwn them AMD anytime you can. Also, this should have been placed in Delfino Plaza.

I knew intel was sued for pretty much bribing system manufacturers, retailers, and distributers with various incentives. I didn't know they stooped this low. They lost over 1 billion dollars, was surprised it was such a large sum at the time.
