God knows how many benchmarks have been skewed in favour of Intel simply because people unknowingly used Intel's compiler in good faith. Intel's compiler is seen as the cream of the crop and delivers superior performance, but apparently only if you stick to GenuineIntel.

people know not to take serious those comments, or do i hear a fanboy ? nah but seriously, intel is the villain in many peoples black-book, and this story doesn't help their cause, i only hope its really resolved.

I knew intel was sued for pretty much bribing system manufacturers, retailers, and distributers with various incentives. I didn't know they stooped this low. They lost over 1 billion dollars, was surprised it was such a large sum at the time.
