There are some reports that regardless of the gpu shown the nvidia card is used, which is a problem with nvidia drivers and dolphin and my guess is something like that happens (what dolphin reports of being used is not actually being used at all).

If you had picked up this for example:
http://ark.intel.com/products/75027/Intel-Core-i5-4200H-Processor-3M-Cache-up-to-3_40-GHz
your performance would be a lot better in dolphin and the price would be lower too compared to what you have:
http://ark.intel.com/products/75459/Intel-Core-i5-4200U-Processor-3M-Cache-up-to-2_60-GHz
I have an Intel i7-4700MQ, that goes up to 3.40GHZ, and that can run dolphin very good.

Which is not an ultra low wattage cpu. Your cpu has a max power consumption that is triple what his cpu is set to.

Mengo..if you're really going to bitch about the emulator being bad itself and giving low performance because of how badly optimized it is the please you are more than welcome to fix it. Go on, do it yourself, I mean it. Or if you think this emulator is so bad why don't go you and find a better one? better yet: create your own emulator, that way it will run JUST as you want it to
The right man in the wrong place can make all the difference in the world.

What gpu do you have? Is it Intel HD 4600?

I know that the i7-4700MQ uses the HD 4600 for its GPU. My main question was to determine if he is using a discrete GPU as well with his laptop or just strictly the HD 4600. Indeed, if it Dolphin runs well with the HD 4600 then I'll know it will run even better with Intel's Iris Pro 5200.

Thanks!

Minimun Dolphin reqs (IMO):

CPU-AMD: 1.0 GHz (A6-1450)

CPU-Intel: 1.6 GHz (Intel Celeron Dual-Core)

Video-Intel: Any 829xxG-GC/G3x integrated GPU (those have SM 2.0 instead of 3.0).

Things can be added to the list.
Rig 1: Windows 10 Home | AMD A6-1450 @ 600/1000/1400 MHz | AMD Radeon HD Graphics 8250 | 4GB RAM | HP Pavilion TouchSmart 11.

Rig 2: Windows 10 Pro | Intel Core i7-2640M @ 780/2800/3500 MHz | Intel HD 3000 Mobile | 8GB RAM | Dell Latitude 6320.

The absolute minimum for x86 CPUs would be anything that supports SSE2, and the GPU must support OpenGL 3.3 or Direct3D 10 in the latest revisions. This is the minimum to run Dolphin, not run it well. The specs DJBarry listed will perform terribly in a number of games, but they can run Dolphin.

Also, JetBiker's been banned (human spammer), but at least his/her question was answered.

What guy said in first thread is COMPLETE CRAP !
I have Acer Aspire V7 which has Intel Core i7-4500U , NVIDIA GeForce GT 750M and Intel HD 4400! 12GB RAM
And it is NOT the problem with your new PC BUT in emulator !
The latest version of this emulator is some kind wrong ! I have checked it tried best settings it is tearing AS HELL uninstalled !
And I have installed 3.0 version and games runs nicely smoothly like on melting butter !!
And I can even set Nvidia GT 750M with D11 whether new versions of this emu won't let me !
And DEFO it funs much better with 750 than HD 4400!
