Having poked around, I'm definitely waiting until next year's Intel chipsets with PowerVR 7, which has OpenGL 4.4 support as a mandatory feature (and DX11 as optional, but who cares about that in the android space). I'm surprised the Series 6XT GPU's in the A8 chips don't have much additional features (beyond ASTC support and Ray tracing module support). Series 7 will be exciting. Still, what kind of drivers does Imagine provide for desktop GL? I've never heard of them doing such a thing, and considering Apple owns quite a large stake in imagine, I'm surprised imagine would give the android GPU's such a feature advantage.

The IPhone 5s's GPU is the same GPU as the Zenfone 2 Look at ASUS's website. They say OpenGL not OpenGL ES.
