Input Strength bug?

I was playing around in melee, and I noticed that when I moved left, the character would dash, while moving right would result in a speedy walk, instead of a dash. This is starting from a standing position. Changing the key doesn't seem to help, and adding a dead zone doesn't help either.

Here's my config files. For some reason, the right and left analog controls are not registering as symmetrical.
I'm only pressing keyboard keys.

...why is the radius on 50? And why did you set up a deadzone on digital controls which do not need deadzones?

Well, it seems that because you constrained the radius, the maximum you can input in the game is limited, and you managed to make it so one way is enough to smash and the other way is not! Just increase the radius to 70-75 (which is gamecube accurate since it doesn't use the entire range of it's axis) and this problem should go away.

You might also want to set up the Modifier so you can do tilts while holding shift or something...

I have had this issue for years. I have to check "background input" and open/close the controller config a few times and eventually it works. I ended up just saving my config.ini file and just pasting it in any builds I use.
