Input settings

I don't understand, what was the point to remove the (working) input settings in the Android version if the new one was not ready yet (more than 4 months now... it looks abandoned and maybe could stay in this state for years)? Wouldn't be smarter to keep the old input settings (which worked) until the new controls were ready without leaving the Android version without input settings?
