Hi,
I'm experiencing a very, very slight input lag in, I believe, all games.
In normal games that's no problem, since you don't need perfect timing to play well, but in games such as Minna No Rhythm Tengoku (Rhythm Heaven), delay is very disrupting, leading me to have to press right before I'm supposed to press, making it very hard to keep a rhythm.

I'm using an emulated wii controller and 3.0, since no newer versions work with Minna No Rhythm Tengoku. The input for my emulated controller is a keyboard, which has 1ms of input lag.

Is the input lag caused by the emulation of the controller? Is there anything I can do about it?
What causes the input lag?

You may get better results if you use a real Wiimote, but you may also be experiencing a bug. I've never noticed input lag, but I've never played a rhythm game on dolphin.
OS: Windows 10 64 bit Professional
CPU: Intel i5 4670K @3.4GHz... for now @4.6GHz with a quick and dirty (yet stable) OC. May get faster in a bit before the end of time.
RAM: 16GB (Down from 24 GB after some was given to siblings)
GPU: Radeon Vega 56

I've never noticed that either. Have you tested a platformer like Super Mario Sunshine. If that doesn't work better, try a different version of Dolphin.

Although I heavily doubt it, could it be your PC specs?

If you look at his profile you'll see his specs are more than enough to run dolphin flawlessly.

In gamecube games I think there's a very slight input delay also.
In the menu of Metroid Prime, the selection moves slightly after I press up or down using either my keyboard or my 360 controller.
In the menu of Super Mario Sunshine, Mario jumps slightly after I press A on either my keyboard or my controller.

I tried 3.0-419. Still a slight input delay. Could not test Minna No Rhythm Tengoku because it doesn't work with anything after 3.0.

Could someone try and see if they have a slight input delay too?
Remember to tap the key- let go of it as quickly as possible. Make as much sound as possible too, that might help noticing a delay.
If the action is not performed right as you press the button, there is a delay. Comparing to non-emulated games might help too.

I've been playing Super Mario Sunshine with GlovePIE and a Wiimote for the better part of 3 days and I've noticed no problems. As far as I can tell, even when doing quick jumps, there seems to be no control lag. Is there another computer you could try it on or could you try using a real Wiimote?

@AnyOldName3 It didn't even cross my mind to look. The specs seem somewhat better than mine.

OS: Windows 7
CPU: Intel i7-2720QM @ 2.20GHz
8 GB of RAM
NVidia Viedo Card

Did you test it like I suggested? Because as I said, in other games the input lag is harder to notice. I've played several games through without noticing the input lag.

Have you tried the very latest revision of Dolphin? I have noticed input lag when both the framelimiter and audio throttling is enabled, but this combination is no longer possible with the latest Dolphin.

I tried out 631 - Turns out Minna No Rhythm Tengoku works in this version!

Sadly, I can't feel any difference.
I think there's still input lag.

But what if it's not the controls that have a delay?
Could it possibly be the sound being out-of-sync? Out-of-sync like playing at same speed as the game, just playing a little bit later than it's supposed to?

I have the same problem with Rhythm Heaven Fever. The tambourine stage is impossible to play because of the input lag. It runs at 100%. Only the controller lags. At first I thought this is because of my crappy bluetooth (I have real wiimotes connected) but the lag stayed exactly the same when I switched to emulated wiimote and used the keyboard. I haven't tried other rhythm games but I suspect the problem is rather game-specific since I have played a lot of platformers on the Dolphin and haven't noticed any input lag at all. I've tried meddling with audio and framelimit settings but nothing helps. It's strange, the graphics DO react immediately to button presses but the sound does not.
