What are some settings one could change to reduce input lag? I just tried to play Castlevania: The Adventure Rebirth and I noticed there is a slight amount of input lag compared to playing on the actual Wii. I noticed when jumping with Simon, it takes a split second longer for him to leave the ground.

EDIT: I should mention that I tested both Wii and Dolphin on the same CRT monitor, so no lag is caused by the display itself.

You probably aren't running the game at fullspeed. What does the FPS and VPS say when you're in the middle of the game?

If you're using a real Wii Remote to play and haven't tried out the Toshiba Bluetooth stack, try that out. It supposedly works wonders, to the point where JMC47 gets more IR input lag on a real Wii (though that might just be his TV). There's a whole guide for installing it here: https://wiki.dolphin-emu.org/index.php?t...tion_Guide

Using a Dinput controller, will report back on the FPS.

I know that I'm usually getting the full 60, because the scolling is as smooth as it is on Wii, but sometimes it will drop a frame and stutter a little bit. I thought that was just an internal timing issue though, that I could fix by messing with some settings. I figured that the "Konami Rebirth" games are so simple that they wouldn't require as many resources as a full 3D Wii game.

I tried again with a similar game, Gradius Rebirth, and had similar lag. I was getting constant 60fps, but the ship was responding a split second late. This makes the game a lot harder to play, of course.

I would love any suggestions on how to tighten things up. The frame-cap didn't seem to help.

Can you record a video or if happening, post it to YouTube, and link it here?

I think that's impossible. Unless the input lag is really bad, it's more something you have to feel, rather than see. Especially when it is caused by the emulator itself.

Turn off Desktop Window Manager if you're on windows; certain controllers will experience latency in certain programs. A lot of Melee players reported this being an issue with controllers. I don't know why, and I do not guarantee the advice working, but some people say it works wonders.
