Increase Graphics= Better Performance?

First off my computer specs are-
Alienware M11X
intel core 2 duo 1.30 overclocked at 1.73
nvidea gforce GT 335m
dolphin Version r7612

Alright it seems when I run Dolphin at 3x res. it runs better than at 1x. why is that? its also set to force 16:9 1366 x 768 with widescreen hack and am using ps3 controller.

It may depend of your other settings... which one did you use? btw which revision did you use too?

i have the same to ask i have a low cpu but upgrading to a decent gpu...

AMD ATHLON X2 DUAL CORE 4000+ 2.1 GHZ
2 GB RAM
RADEON HD 5450 1 GB

Not even decent but il ask what games i can run with this

It's weak you can run GC games but it will creep...

well i just went to dolphin 3.0 and all the settings are set from the performance guide with fullscreen, 3x res, 16x anisotrophic filter, wide screen and i think thats it... I think its because my cpu is bad and my gpu is a lot better....

use basic settings you will get better performance... which game did you try?
