Alright, this is a problem that I’ve had for a long time now, and I can't take it anymore. Basically, many games in Dolphin run slower than they’re supposed to. Here are some of the results I’ve found:

Game Example: Super Monkey Ball 2 (16:9 Native, All Backends Tested)
This is just one of the games I'm having trouble with.

While playing, sometimes the game will drop to very low framerates, despite the fact that they shouldn’t.

When booting Super Monkey Ball 2 with Speed Limit Unlimited in Fullscreen, the main menu runs at exactly 35 FPS. When I press F to switch to windowed mode, the game suddenly runs at 130 FPS. Why is that?

Edit: Game Example: Tony Hawk Pro Skater 3

Game runs at 60 FPS for a good 5 seconds or so after a level restart, then goes to 30 FPS, then 20. This is getting very frustrating.

It sounds like your computer may be overheating. Check the temps on your CPU and GPU while playing games and see if they start to get really high.

Thanks for the suggestion, but I don't think that's it. Games play at well above 60FPS when I uncap the speed limit, and I used a program that shows the CPU's temperature, and the number never went above 56 degrees Celsius. Plus, I played the demo for DOOM 2016 and, with an update to my GPU, almost never went under 60 FPS. I don't think the problem is heat.

Dolphin can be finicky with graphics cards and their ability to detect how much processing power it needs. Try forcing your GPU into high performance mode when using Dolphin instead of adaptive power management.

I actually got Dolphin running much better after going through the settings one more time, but where can I find the high performance mode? Also, can I recommend a button that returns all settings to default?

That would be in your graphics driver controls. I'm not totally sure where that is in the new Crimson software.....

Well, you could just delete your ini files (Dolphin.ini, and all files starting with gfx) under Username/Dolphin Emulator/Config.
Intel i5-4690k (Devil's Canyon) @ 3.5 GHz (+Scythe Mugen) / Gainward GTX 1070 Phoenix (OC'd) / ASUS Z97 PRO GAMER / 16GB G.Skill DDR3-2400 CL10 TridentX / X-Fi XtremeMusic / Win10 Pro 64bit / Dell S2716DG Monitor / 3x original WiiMote+MotionPlus+Nunchuk

I thought that would do it, but I didn't want to screw anything up! Thanks for the help!
