Im getting lagspikes in some situtations if i enable 9xSSAA in the graphics settings. Is my system not good enough, or is this a bug?

Your system is not good enough.
I won't elaborate further on this because it has been explained like 500 times already why your comparison with BF3 is flawed. Actually, even the fact that it has been explained like 500 times already has been stated ridiculously often.. ![]()
So what would I need to run my gamecube games without lag and 9xSSAA enabled?

Emulation != PC Gaming.
Quote:So what would I need to run my gamecube games without lag and 9xSSAA enabled?You can run some GC games fairly well with SSAA x9. Whenever you see FPS drops, it means that your GPU isn't fast enough. IMO x4 IR is more than enough. AA is just luxery and isn't worth the performance hit. 02-10-2012, 12:31 AM
I decided to play around with the settings, and to be honest there isn't that much of a difference between 4xSSAA and 9xSSAA.
But the emulation speed is being kept consistent while 4xSSAA is selected. I am now going to play through a couple of games, and hopefully the speed won't drop to a point where lag makes it unplayable. 02-10-2012, 11:37 AM

Quote:I have 2xGTX560 which is way better than all of these cards. 1. Dolphin doesn't gain any advantage from SLI just so you know. 2. What do 2x IR results have to do with 9xSSAA? Do you even know what SSAA does? 3. You haven't mentioned what IR you're using. Quote:because my system can play BF3 @ 1920x1200 with most settings maxed, but apparently not an old game like Luigi's mansion. Your comparison is flawed because a high IR + 9xSSAA in dolphin is a MUCH higher internal resolution than 1920 x 1200.

My internal resolution is only 1280x1056.

Basically ,A GTX 560 can handle either :
_Internal Resolution (IR) : 4x , No Anti-aliasing(AA) or 2x , Anisotropic Filtering (AF) : 16x _IR: 3x , AA : 2x , AF : 16x _IR : 2x ,AA : 4x , AF : 16x _IR : 1x ,AA : 9x , AF : 16x Choose your candy eye Laptop: Mini PC :: 02-10-2012, 02:12 PM
Quote:_Internal Resolution (IR) : 4x , No Anti-aliasing(AA) or 2x , Anisotropic Filtering (AF) : 16x ......what? AF doesn't affect performance at all on modern GPUs. Quote:Internal resolution is 1280x1056. And then multiply that by 3x3 since you're using 9xSSAA. Your real internal resolution is: 3840 x 3168 Which is about 6 times as high as 1920 x 1200. That is why your performance sucks. If you tried to run BF3 at that internal resolution the game wouldn't even run, you would run out of vdram and the game would crash. Now do you understand? SSAA is EXTREMELY demanding on the gpu because it essentially just raises the internal resolution and applies a scaling shader.
