I thought it was great when I first played it back in the day. Don't have particularly fun if I play it now though. But it's more fair to rate it from your original playthrough. The strength of this game is the element of surprise/creativity more than the actual challenge of the game. (Although it was also more challenging the first time). And with 13 more years, what was "new and innovative" will easily fade in comparison with never games. Mario Oddyssey for example took many of it's ideas and improved on them.
Biggest flaw IMO: The highly abuseable spin jump that kills platforming precision gameplay. E.g. the spin-wall-jump-spin again which seems oddly unintended by how you can skip many sections with extremely tall jumping. Just long jump near some platform, spin onto them. It doesn't take much skill for any challenge in this game to be ruined.
