If you were buying a phone, would you care about being able to test Dolphin?

It already supports some extensions that Dolphin uses that are a part of GLES 3.2, and others that aren't

 I was under the impression it wasn't release quality yet.  If it works now then hell yeah.  But doesn't it require file flashing in system (which also requires root/unlocked bootloader)?  It's replacing driver files so I'd imagine that's about right

Depending on the manufacturer , my Fujitsu Arrows Z phone (Snap 800) doesn't run hot at full load but my Sharp IGZO SH-06E (Snap 600) does
Also , there is rumor about the new Snap 810 : It run too hot on every phone , even the flagship HTC One M9. I got my hand on it (Fujitsu F-04G , not going to buy it yet) , it's true that it overheats , that temp is too hot for my hand to hold
Our Japanese manufacturer decided to quit using high-end 810 on their next flagship models but will use lower end like 808 or even 410 instead
I don't know Qualcomn could fix this or not but their newer 820 chip doesn't sound good to me

Android has issues with mesa which are nearly sorted out upstream on the Inforce 6410 dev board. This testing has been done under Linux.

Well I can speak for Nexus devices,  and they definitely burn up with use.  Some OEMS fixed it with excellent thermal dispersion and smarter governors.  The S810 is a wild beast and having stock arm cores really threw off most of the OEMS.  Not that I don't think the chip itself has fundamental design issues.  Qualcomm is very inconsistent but they have the bottom line down which is all casual users need.

Latest Nexus are using 810 v2.1 so overheating shouldn't be a problem. 

Sonic do you know of it would be possible to activate a 64 bit userspace for the Zenfone 2? Or is it impossible?

v2.1 is a myth.  The One M9 Bootloader actually says v2.1 on the latest updates so any OEM that says it's a new revision is flat out lying.

A better option would be the Meizu MX5 Pro with the Exynos 7420.  Drivers are still awful,  but CPU performance is substantially better and without the overheating.  It's $520 though which could be more than your budget allows

Pretty much the only way to get what I want is to wait and see if the Galaxy A9 won't be a dissapointment in price :/

Honestly the dolphin situation on phones right now is pretty bleak.  Hopefully the S620 and S820 make it more feasible to run dolphin on a variety of devices.
