I'm getting a new phone but I'm wondering whether or not it should have a Qualcomm SoC in it. I don't think I really have a choice since no other SoCs except Iphones have the LTE band I want ;_;

i personally won't be buying another Qualcomm device period.  Done with their brand of BS.  They'll have to earn my trust again. Is Samsung not an option for you?  The drivers aren't much better but CPU performance is way higher.

They would be if their phones weren't so expensive. :/

Yup. Don't want to pay it off over time

Well i guess you're stuck with Qualcomm.  Don't see much else that would actually be faster then a snapdragon at a sub $500 price range

Can't say I didn't see that coming. :/ Oh well. Here's to Android's Vulkan initiative actually changing something (lolno)

I would wait a little while as Asus has anounced that they have a gaming phone coming out soon with the Mediatek X20 and if the benchmarks are anything to go by then it may very well be a good chip with Tegra K1 like performance.

Nope.

Mobile drivers are so bad that it doesn't matter what phone you get, driver bugs will still screw you.

If you want Android Dolphin, get a Shield TV or wait for the Pixel C.

I don't get why everyone says this - the entire breakthrough with Dolphin on Android is that it can now be played on mobile devices.

If I wanted to play it at home then I could just boot it up on my PC and even though my PC is 6 years old it still. Runs every game smoothly.
