Disabling idle skipping in the zelda twilight princess game ini (GC) makes the game unable to start, all I get is a blackscreen after the nintendo logo, I disable idle skipping because generally my games run faster on dolphin with it disabled, anyone knows why this happens? It happens in both Direct3d and opengl. Any fix?

It's pretty much impossible for turning off idle skipping to make a game run faster. It quite literally gives your processor less to do.
It shouldn't affect behavior like this, but it is a known issue. It wouldn't matter in Twilight Princess anyway though, as it's GPU thread limited, so turning off idleskipping won't matter. 10-30-2014, 02:18 AM
JMC: It is possible, but then it isn't save. We sync our GPU thread in idle skipping, so disabling it may remove the last syncing action.
talos91: so the fix would be to enable some kind of syncing, and the fastest one is idle skipping atm - Did you see the ztp speedhack? This may also help you 10-30-2014, 06:27 AM
So apparently this is a known issue with Twilight princess:
https://code.google.com/p/dolphin-emu/is...il?id=7177 I dunno why but disabling idle skipping makes games like Tales of Symphonia: Dawn of the New World, Resident evil 0, kirby dreamland run faster for me, it fixes the slow downs and stuttering in cutscenes and battles. Also wasnt the ztp speedhack removed? 10-30-2014, 06:34 AM
It was removed from dolphin and reintroduced as game hack. Just look in the "patches" menu in the game specific options.
