So, since you are miserable, you are saying that no one should bring up ideas unless they have solutions? People are motivated by open discussion. You have no idea the people who read these threads or what they are or aren't capable of nor how that might motivate them even with a totally different idea. The only thing your demeanor can bring, however, is a persons will to want to steer clear of this wonderful opportunity called a forum. Big Grin

Well the difference in this forum (the difference between Dolphin and other projects) is the amount of people with ideas far outpasses the amount of people who are able to do something about them. It's not like a wiki discussion where anyone can implement an idea. So the idea list is basically long enough for many years. (See the feature request thread)

Neat idea, an emulator in a HTPC would be cool.

The main limitation will be power. If you have a high-power computer to run the emulator then it will be drawing lots of power, something you don't want in an HTPC. A low power computer, usually used in HTCPs, probably won't have enough power for a lot of games. If you have cheap electricity then you might not care at all.
There are a couple solutions to this though:
-Overclock. I usually OC my laptop when running Dolphin so that my mid-level GPU and lappy CPU can handle it. Low power for normal stuff, high for games.
-If you have a laptop with GPU switching (most modern high-end, battery-saving, and gaming laptops have this) then you could manually switch between the low-power weak and the high-power strong GPU for media and games. Keep it on low when you're doing simple stuff like watching videos and rev up the nVidia or ATI for games. Allowing the automatic switcher to run would probably switch to high when you don't need it, so manual would be better.
-If you're using a desktop or whatever then you could install 2 GPUs. Disable the high-power one to save energy when you're not using it. Enable it for processing but have it still output through the first one.

About the 3Di A lot of people use the iZ3D driver for active 3D (shutter lenses), and I believe the driver's "dual output" is light polarization which is the other main 3DTV type. If you have a 3D TV you probably have the $40 to shell out for a driver.

Not much of a UI is required. Within Dolphin you can use the arrow keys to navigate ROMs, just click anywhere in the ROM list to bring it into focus and hit Enter to run. Set games to run at fullscreen.
Configs may require some programming. I have no idea how other people manage configs.

How do you guys manage your configs? edit the individual GameConfig.ini per game, or change the graphics settings through the UI each time, or something else?

Honestly, I don't see power being an issue. While a lot of people use the ultra-tiny low-power devices, you will find those of us who have been doing this for quite some time and are a little more knowledgeable (from experience of course...not saying I'm smarter than anyone here), would probably tell you for the best all-around HTPC experience, the current recommended specs for dolphin and HTPC specs are right in-line with each other. I have seen and heard a lot of discussion on power savings, but could someone tell me the difference in power consumption in a average PC on all the time vs one, let's say only half the time? I'd be willing the bet the headaches involved with scheduling and availabbility outweigh the savings but I'd LOVE to be proven wrong cause I love saving money.

Btw, I have encountered a serious bug that the Dolphin team should take an immediate look into...

When I stream Dolphin to my android phone using Team viewer, the colors are quite messed up, like they are only 8-bit. I think the Dolphin team should start a dialogue and cooperation with the authors of team viewer, to get this serious and bothersome issue fixed as quickly as possible. Until then, I will be unable to enjoy my emulation experience.
