i7-5820k: Good decision or flop?

Hello Guys,
it's only a week when I'm going to buy my new PC. Because it's supposed to be a high-end pc and I only do things which causes a high cpu load like convert/rendering videos and using emulators I provisionally decided to buy an i7-5820k, a (overpowered) 6-core, haswell-e cpu. Good, even when I'm going to buy a gtx 970, pc games take a secondary role. I'm more interessed in playing Wii/GC-Games with Dolphin, which left unuseable on my current CPU.

Is the i7-5820k a good decision? It's only having a frequency of 3.3 gigahertz and dolphin can only use two of its cores. So I'm unsure if, due to this fact, a 4-core CPU is a better decision.

Please refrain from posts like the CPU its just overpriced, i know that i just wanna have a future-proof pc with DDR4.

I hope you can help.

the CPU is overpriced

Actually though. Unless you're doing video editing the benefits that the i7 provides over the i5 (hyperthreading) are useless, no games or casual applications utilize it atm and won't need to in the foreseeable future. Get an i5 4690k, which is slightly cheaper, has better OC, and is better for Dolphin.

Also, Dolphin can use 3 cores, not just 2

Only uses 3 cores when LLE on thread is enabled, which is only for specific games.

You have very few options for processors then.

I do video editing, getting an i7 was thoughtful. I was just afraid that a 6-core CPU with a "low" frequency causes significant performance degrades, because Dolphin only uses tree. And, if you understand what i mean in this rough english, a single core of a 4-core CPU gots more power than a single core of a 6-core cpu(EDIT:This is what I'm afraid of.). I wish that the CPU can handle Dolphin properly, for video editing and converting etc. this CPU is recommened.

uh...what?

How much video editing? If you do it for like a profession and need it done FAST, then hyperthreading is for you. If you're just a casual user, then it's rather unnecessary.

I quoted my post instead of edit it...
What does professional mean? I do much video editing and rendering 3d models, sometimes i also create Video game reviews and lets plays, my current pc was often to weak. Its never really commerical but tempus pecunia est.

I want to replay Zelda:SS and SMG in HD especially, Zelda TP seems to work properly at 1080p (ref: this lets play). As I said I think its a thoughtful decision to take a i7 and ddr4. It seems that i systematically refuse your suggestions, i know. But downgrading my new system to an i5... i don't know, i would like to have DDR4 just to have a system which is not completly obsolete in four years.

Professionally=commercially in this context

I wouldn't suggest getting an i7 still, you don't need it, and the particular i5 model I recommended is superior and won't be obsolete for quite awhile

Hmm...you say that the i5 4690k is superior? how far?
I must confess that I'm quite unsure for now, because i can't deny that playing dolphin on full speed is an K.O. Argument for my new CPU, but also is very fast video editing, DVD/BD Authoring and an half-K.O. Argument is DDR4. I would only really grudgingly stay at DDR3. I think I'm in a tricky situation right now.
