no, i was talking about buying a $100 cheaper (than a 2500K) processor as crap.

since over here, $100 cheaper puts you in Phenom II pricing......

He was talking about $100 as the difference in price between the 2600k and 2500k. The whole point of this thread was to help the OP decide between those two. Since the addition of HT won't help dolphin in any way....spending that extra $100 on a better gpu is a logical choice.

I'm in the same situation. 2500 vs 2600, don't know if its worth it if all your PC's only primary function is for gaming. Also, has the sandybridge motherboard recall thing been fixed already? I noticed a friend selling h67 boards but haven't asked yet if these are just old stock with the sata2 problem.

No the cougar point (SB for the P67/H67 chipsets) problem has not been fixed yet. And spending the extra $100 on a 2600k for gaming is pointless.
