I got an odd request for you, but it might not be possible and may result in you just laugh at my lack of knowledge in the project.

See the thing is that I use the official 2.0 release and I love it since it have been absolutely 99% trouble free since day one last april.

There is only one minor problem I have with it, Hyrule Field slowdown in Twilight Princess (GC version)

I know there is a patch that solves most of this problem in newer revisions but could there possible be a chance for someone from the development team to apply this patch to the official 2.0 release??
Or would it break Dolphin entirely because it's dependent of other changes made since 2.0?

I know it sounds retarded to you and that you wonder why I just don't use an newer SVN version with it, but to tell you the truth I'm not very fond of using SVN/Beta versions of Dolphin, or any other emu for that matter, heck I'm still using the oldest and most dead version of Visual Boy Advance, 1.7.2 since 2004 but it's stable and plays every game perfectly.

I can only say thanks in advance, this patch in 2.0 would make my Dolphin experience be 100% complete.

No. 2.0 was released a year ago and will not be updated.

No. It is entirely possible, it just won't happen "officially". You can however request that somebody compile 5350 with the ZTP speedup hack for you (5350 is the revision number for 2.0). Make a new thread in this subforum and request it.

Ok, thanks for the information NaturalViolence.

But I think I'll wait patiently for the next official release instead, just thought I should ask.

I know this may sound strange and I know you just said that 5350 is 2.0, but if I know myself correctly as I should then I wouldn't stand seeing Dolphin SVN 5350 instead of Dolphin 2.0
Isn't it strange how some numbers and letters can affect you that much.

3.0 should be coming out sometime soonish, they've made a issue on the google code, of the things they need to do to get ready for the next release, so you probably won't have to wait very long

You don't have to wait at all, just download the newest revision. Things will be changed from now until then, but that will always be the case no matter what number it is. Just keep up with the builds as they come out no matter if they're official or not.

That sounds like sweet music to my ears, I'm willing to wait alot for this.
I'm all in for an official release, this is really good news.

@ Starscream

That might be true, and just for fun I tried out a recent build from the main site, 7365 I think it was.

It's looking really good, I know now that I'm going to be able to play all my games at top notch speeds (Twilight Princess Hyrule Fields and Resident Evil Remake mainly had slowdowns but worked great now)
But New Super Mario Bros was completely broken, menus fullspeed with intro and ingame 4 FPS, but that's how it is with SVNs, ups and downs.
One commit is good and one commit might break things.

That's why I only use official releases, most of the problems are gone.

2.0 for me is more then enough for the time being, I'll trust you'll blow us all away with 3.0

Sorry for my rant.

That's not a rant, it's a complement. Rants are aggressive.

Oh... I'm almost 26 years old and I didn't even know rants were aggressive.

I always thought rant was when you talked to much.
As for this project I'm as far away from aggressive as possible, on the contrary in fact Smile
You guys have fullfilled the dream of playing GameCube games on the computer and then some more.

Whenever I'm posting somewhere I try to translate in my head from Swedish to English how I want to write, formulate and describe things the best.

Rant seemed like the best choice then.

Now I talk to much Smile
