Okay, I've been lurking around because I'm curious about how Dolphin would run on my new gaming system. However, the biggest issue if of course getting the games. Since the roms are too big to download (and illegal) I've decided to rip my own discs, so I did a forum search and came across various threads where KHRZ recommended WiiHTTPd. However, never has anyone said how to actually use it to dump the contents of the disc, and then if you have to do anything else to it afterwards. I don't have much money to spare to take the LG Drive option and I don't know how to get the custom IOS for DVD Dumper.

So my big question is, now that I have WiiHTTPd on my Wii, what do I do next? And if it doesn't work out, what are my other options?

Ah, this looks like an option to actually dumping my Gamecube games...

But anyway, if you want to dump Wii games, this is the best method, USB loaders.
With USb loader GX installed, you insert a disc, and it will let you install it onto your USB device.
The USB device should ideally be in a special WBFS format, once I've dumped the ISO to USB, I simply plug it into my PC and extract it with WBFS manager, and there's my legal Wii ISO ready to use.
Depending on the speed of your device, you may have a large 7gb game dumped in about an hour or less.

Okay, I think I've narrowed down the simplest options for anyone who owns a Wii, here's a brief guide that assumes you have already installed the homebrew channel.

Dumping Wii ISOs
USB Loader GX enables the USB loading of Wii ISOs on your Wii, once installed, Wii Discs can be dumped on the system by "installing" them to a USB device such as a flash drive or external HDD.

USB Loader GX's installation guide should help you get this running easily.
To my knowledge, this is legal, including installing the custom IOS. If it's not, please correct me.

This method requires a specially prepared USB Device using WBFS Manager.
First you format the USB device on your PC using the manager.
Then you dump your Wii ISOs using USB Loader GX.
Finally, you extract the ISOs from your USB device with the manager.
And that's how you get working Wii ISOs for Dolphin.

Dumping Gamecube ISOs
This method uses a wii homebrew called WiiDump. You will need an SD card, or a USB drive, at least 2 GB.
This method is also capable of dumping Wii isos, but is much slower so you should save this for Gamecube ISOs.
SD dumping is also slower, do USB.

This one is very easy to use, install the homebrew to your SD card and launch it with the homebrew channel, insert your Gamecube Disc, choose to dump a Gamecube DVD, and let it dump to the chosen device.
This can take up to 2 hours. Once the dump is done, you'll have a .bat, .info and some .bin files on the memory, copy it to your PC and run the .bat to compile the ISO.

Probably should have mentioned that I have no USB devices big enough to use USB Loader GX, unless I erase my camera's 2GB memory card and use that with my SD Reader to rip GC games only. I'd rather just do it over Wi-Fi for now.

Thanks for the link Nosound97, but I can't get cIOS249 installed for some reason D: it keeps failing, and WiiHTTPd still gives me a 404 error.

Just a side-note, pretty much all of those applications need an IOS installed in slot 249 (which is commonly used for piracy for some reason), such as the aforementioned Patchmii cIOS clone and/or DVDX for access to the encrypted parts of the (Wii-)Disc.
