I wanna follow the footsteps of this guy. It means I can do a side by side comparison of a real Wii and the Dolphin Emulator on the same screen. BUT... I wanna take this to the next level.
I want to run the Wii off the PC's ATX power supply, and display the Wii's output on my PC monitor using picture-in-picture technology.
Now this PC was sold on eBay for a ripoff price. I don't wish to install the Wii actually inside my PC, (I don't have enough room lol) but, maybe have it resting on top.
The Wii takes 12V so in theory this could work if I could install a 12V aux power connector on the back of my PC and connect my Wii to it? I think my power supply is more than capable.
Also any ideas on a capture card for the Wii, it MUST be component capable (I wanna see the Wii's 480p glory).
I'm looking at this Hauppage model.
Does anyone know if it can display a 'live feed' from the Wii in realtime at 480p with next to no lag or latency?

Also any other thoughts are welcome. I think this would be a pretty awesome idea even if I do say so myself Big Grin

It does, especially if you needed to compare what a Wii did with what dolphin did to see if something needed changing.

Whoa, calm down... I just am curious to see how much better Dolphin looks than a Wii at its finest settings. Also not all games work with Dolphin currently, so it's nice to have the best of both.

What would be the purpose of using your PSU to power the Wii?
you are now breathing manually.

One less thing to plug in and one less unsightly power brick lying around.
