I have tried all the suggestions i could find. I have also installed these two files, as well as uninstalling dolphin and installing it again several times.

Try at least 2017, especially if you are using a dev build. https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/help/2977003/the-latest-supported-visual-c-downloads

Keep in mind the redistributable for Visual Studio 2015/2017/2019 is the same. So, installing VC++ 2019 should fix this for you, even through Dolphin is currently built against VC++ 2017...

That's a recent thing, right? I still remember having to install several different ones of these, and then each in a x86 and a x64 version.

How is it that Microsoft still can't insert into its OS telling people to install the redistributable? And google is failing as well, if you google MSVCP140.dll, you should find 10 hits on how and why you need to install the redistributable. All other search results should only show up on page 2 and later, because they are plain wrong. Like MSVCP140.dll downloads or they mention only one specific Visual Studio version, or my favorite "In case the .dll file got corrupted in some way, reinstalling Visual C++ would fix the MSVCP140.dll file is missing error:" in the "People also ask" section.

@Belqua:
Make sure to install the redistributable for all Visual Studio versions, and if you have to choose between x86 and x64, you need the x64 version for recent Dolphin versions. If you have to install them manually, i suggest to install all versions, in case you come along a different program in the future that uses a different Visual Studio version.

That solved it, thanks.

Well, it's as recent as Visual Studio 2015. Any program compiled against VS2015 or newer will use the same redistributable. Programs compiled against older versions of Visual Studio will still require their own, matching, redistributable version though...
