I have a alienware m15x and i looked up some reasons why dolphin was running so slow. It is because i need to disable hyperthreading because it is running on alot of threads. But i noticed on the alienware BIOS there is no way to disable it, or no option to. Im running on windows 7 home premium 64 bit. Does anyone know why it is not there or know of a software to turn it off?
I cant disable HT to make dolphin run faster.

You don't need to disable hyper-threading, just disable or leave disabled the option "Lock Threads to Cores" in the Dolphin general configuration. I am able to play just fine with my i7 and hyper-threading enabled by doing this.

Im trying to play SSBM and Luigi's Mansion, but its only running like 10-20 fps during gameplay, here are specs: i7 @ 1.6 ghz (Turbo boosted to 2.8, 6mb) Nvidia Geforce GTX 260m 4 gigs or ram windows 7 64 bit Someone said my graphics card was weak, but i dont think it is, this is a gaming laptop. 10-25-2010, 12:23 PM
I think turbo boost only kicks in for single threaded apps, I'm not sure but I could of sworn I read that somewhere. If that's the case then each core is only running at 1.6 Ghz which is below the minimum for Dolphin.
Eh, I may be wrong on the above. Here's how turbo boost works straight from Intel: Quote:Intel Turbo Boost Technology is activated when the Operating System (OS) requests the highest processor performance state (P0). Turbo boost will only kick in if your processor temperature is low enough besides the other factors. So turbo boost is probably not kicking in and that's why performance is so low for you. I would download CPU-Z and run it while using Dolphin, if turbo boost is working the reading with CPU-Z should reflect the increase of clock speed. 10-25-2010, 12:58 PM

Lol i found the problem, found out my computer was restored before i got it so i went to update the graphics driver, it crashed my comp, i turned it back on and the emu was working at 100% perfectly 10-25-2010, 01:05 PM
Glad you got it sorted, I would have never suspected that being the issue. oO
