I have tried using 4 real wiimotes, and could only get 3 to detect. I thought the problem might be the Bluetooth adapter. But then I tried plugging in 4 wired 360 controllers as emulated wiimotes, and the 4th emulated wiimote could not be connected. hitting alt+ f8 or doing it through the tools menu did not do anything. used multiple revisions, most recently 7590. Moved around between multiple usb ports to make sure that wasn't the problem.

2 extra notes:

the ring around the middle of the 360 controllers lights up for each controller, showing 1, 2, 3, and 4, but still can't use the 4th controller.

and while the 4th controller is plugged in, only the 1st player controller is moved. players 2 and 3 are unresponsive. If I unplug the 4th wired controller, and restart dolphin, then the 3 controllers will work properly.

GPU- GTX 295
Windows 7 64 bit
mobo- msi eclipse plus
12 GB ram

OS: Windows 7 Professional 64-Bit
CPU: Intel Core i7 975, 3.3GHz
GPU: GTX 295
RAM: 12GB DDR3

forgot to mention, the 4 wired 360 controllers all work for the gamecube, just not the wiimotes.

Is this something that deserves a new issue under google code? or is this related to the other wiimote issues and doesn't need another one?

same thing happens on both 64 bit and 32 bit dolphin.

going to try older revisions
well, randomly tried revision 6859, and it worked. 4 emulated wiimotes and 4 real wiimotes. I'll slowly try to find if their is a revision that it "breaks" in, but maybe somehow this problem only affected a few people. I'll go through them unless someone tells me it isn't worth it.

I'll try to quit posting until i find something.

so i'm a geek and had to find a fix for it. after going through a bunch of revisions, here are my results:

6859- works

7120- works

7240- works,

7270- works

7271- works

7272- works, but with bad input lag

7303- works, but with bad input lag

7381- works, with bad input lag

7388- works, with bad input lag

7392- works, with bad input lag

7393- works, with bad input lag

7394- 4th wiimote doesnt connect

7396- 4th wiimote doesnt connect

7400- 4th wiimote doesnt connect

7415- 4th wiimote doesnt connect

7430- 4th wiimote wont connect

current- 4th wiimote doesnt connect

so it seems like I found two separate problems, at least for me. Getting the 4th wiimote to connect stopped working at 7394, and the bad input lag on the wiimotes started at 7272.

again, these issues only occured when using 4 wiimotes, real or emulated. 3 works fine.

hope this helps

thanks. when i searched on there i only searched for "4 wiimotes", so that second one never came up for me. but i wont make a repeat issue on there.

actually, i think they just made that 2nd issue recently, but either way, I'm glad that its getting worked on. wish I could help on it more. love dolphin

So out of curiosity, can anyone connect 4 wiimotes? wondering if not being able to connect 4 only happens to a few people. (using dolphin 3.0 for example)

1) I think lot of users & dev. have simply never tested with more 2 wiimotes...
2) Just only one dev. works on this issue : Dimitri (the others say that users & testers have bad wiimotes coming from the hell... -__-)

-------
I have the same issue & I advise you to test revision 7675 (don't yet officially out)
http://code.google.com/p/dolphin-emu/source/detail?r=7675

unofficial r7676 (by Link_to_the_past)
http://forums.dolphin-emu.org/showthread.php?tid=13772
(I don't test yet, but i'm crossing fingers for that finally works ^^'.)

after test, always the same :/
the fourth wiimote doesn't connect or disconnects after 2 seconds.
