Hi I’m new here and like I really wanna emulate Wii games without having lag and I saw this phone called Xiaomi Pocophone F1 it has 6GB Ram and Snapdragon 845 and from what I heard SD 845 is a gaming processor and is very good. I wanna emulate games mostly open world few of these are Spider-Man Shattered Dimensions, Spider Man Web of Shadows and some others need for speed, tekken, Mario kart, etc. Can Poco F1 get me at least 30 FPS in some of these games? I have never bought a gaming phone before and not know much sorry if my English isn’t good it’s my 2nd language. Poco F1 is the only cheap phone with good specs I found should I go for this phone?

1. This post should be in the android forum to get you the best help.
2. A quick search looks like it is Okish for Dolphin but will still not be great in demanding titles. Not sure how the games you specifically mentioned will perform. 3. Use the site https://www.kimovil.com/en/where-to-buy-xiaomi-pocophone-f1 Make sure the F1 is compatible with your carrier before buying. A phone needs to work as a phone before worrying about dolphin performance. 11-26-2019, 06:27 AM
Moved to Android...

If you can afford it, go for a phone with the Snapdragon 855 instead. Since the games you mentioned are bit demanding, you'll want a powerful chip for best possible framerates. Xiaomi makes a few affordable SD 855 phones like the K20 PRO.
Don't buy a phone with Dolphin being your goal.
We don't pay enough attention to Android for it to be a worthwhile investment. Dolphin on Android isn't in a state where you can just say "buy the highest end SoC, everything will run great" - You will be very disappointed to find just how much work you have to do to get playable games compared to PC OS versions of Dolphin. 11-26-2019, 09:36 AM
Helios, do you think in a few years when android devices are comfortably fast enough to play most Gamecube/Wii games, that the Android port will get more interest from other dolphin developers?
Dunno. All I know is right now, today, you shouldn't buy a phone with Dolphin as the goal. Android doesn't get enough attention to make it worth it.

I’m not going to decide how much of a priority Dolphin is, I will just list phones with known good CPU thermals. Kirin 970/980 Huawei devices (with the thermally unlocked high performance mode enabled), Razer phone 2, ROG Phone 2, and OnePlus 7/7 Pro I know for sure have above par thermals (either from good design or ultra high thermal limits for a phone). Some of these are even good phones so you don’t have to give that up.

I have and love my Razer Phone 2.... though to be fair I have not bothered testing Dolphin on it since the only games I will play using touch screen controls are turn based strategy and turn based RPGs. Which are not what I own for GC or Wii.

Although Adreno drivers aren't doing much better, they suck less than Mali drivers, so picking a device with a Snapdragon SoC remains a wiser choice for now if you plan using Dolphin...
