Hyrule Field Slowdown Observation

There's nothing you can do with settings alone. Hyrule Field in Twilight Princess has slowdowns because it's very demanding. You'll need better, overclocked hardware, like the i5-4670K @ 4.0+ GHz.

ladies & gentlemen,
THIS IS AWESOME! just found this on youtube: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dFLBiS7c0A0&list=PLkBK2hrDcB5ucqVzu5cMgRNqL4sBUj7op and it seems this guy plays hyrule field full speed... you can check it out. it's a complete walkthrough of the wii version in full hd 1080p. amazing =)) there's also a playlist ... so you can compare how he's playing hyrule field in the beginning and the end... fluently. i tried to contact the guy, but he's not answering. i wanna have theeeeese dolphin settings and of course i wanna know if my i5@4,3ghz // radeon7850 is enough to make THIS SHIT! i mean... what kind of cpu is this guy using??? or is it just my settings?!? maybe you guys know, how this guy is doing that?? sorry, i'm just so happy to know... that's it's at least possible SOMEHOW!! ![]() all the best. =) 07-31-2013, 05:04 PM
Hey guys, I'm not extremely familiar with why Hyrule field is slow, but from some of the posts I've seen its due to the minimap right? Is there any AR hacks or gecko codes to disable it? I'm just curious if there is a way to hack the game to run faster without having to mess with dolphin. I posted this question in the LoZ TP thread, but no one has seemed to see it with knowledge on the subject.

You have the ZTP Hack in Dolphin: right-click Twilight Princess in the Game List, choose properties and tick ZTP Hack...
Avell A70 MOB: Core i7-11800H, GeForce RTX 3060, 16 GB DDR4-3200, Windows 11 (Insider Preview)

Other than the ZTP hack, if you need to increase the speed you can:
1) Use HLE for a significant perfornance increase, but this can make the audio cut in and out and sound poor at times 2) Use LLE on Thread (if you are using LLE and are not interested in using HLE), but it can cause freezes from time to time 3) Disable XFB if you have it enabled as it is not required for this game

The guy in the video is playing it full speed in hyrule field because he probably has EFB copy off or set it texture as the map is not displayed throughout his entire playthrough.

I can play it at full speed using LLE and LLE on Thread (or just using HLE), so it is easily possible. You just need a fairly powerful rig to do so.

@turntable97
He's likely doing one or more of the following: 1. Using an old build 2. Using fast but inaccurate settings that cause issues such as a glitched minimap 3. He's probably not that far into the game. The further into the game you progress the slower hyrule field gets.

I am really struggling with this. I have the ZTP hack enabled, running with the recommended settings from the wiki on a GTX 570 OC and i7 2600k. Why am I getting 10-15 fps here? This is pretty annoying.
I am past the third twilight level, so I am quite far I think. Is there absolutely no way to fix this? Quick edit: Thought I needed to mention I tried everything @haddockd suggested above to no avail. |
