I have a Core2Duo E8500 with 4 GB of DDR2 Dual Channel Ram and a Nvidia 9800 GT and still get drastic slowdowns in Hyrule Field.

Without the patch I get 12 - 13 FPS in the slowest part of Hyrule Field, with the patch I get 18 - 20 FPS in the slowest part of Hyrule Field but it messes up textures.

I did try fixing the issues with the textures, but it proved useless as I was just flushing the same data as without the patch.

3,8 GHZ is necessary to reach the 30 FPS...

with 4 GHZ I am getting around 33-35 FPS in hyrule field

up to here the results are very nice!

How far are you through the game though?

My CPU is running at 3.2 or 3.3 GHZ, that's the max I can overclock with my current motherboard. I wouldn't of thought 600 Mhz would make that much of a difference seeing as I only get 12 FPS on the slowest part of Hyrule Field with my current system configuration.

Well SonicAdvance1 said he would try to add a hack for now which should fix the texture issues and give a small speed increase in this area. Even though I would indeed prefer a proper fix, a lot of people have been extremely anxious to get any extra speed in this area.

I normally consider 18 - 20 FPS bearable for a game where 30 FPS is full speed, if full speed is achievable that would be even better.

I should mention this issue seems specific to certain people, those with overclocked i7 and Core2duo processors are reporting little to no slowdowns in this area. I have a Core2Duo E8500 that is overclocked to 3.2 or 3.3 Ghz and still am getting drastic slowdowns, someone who posted above has a Core2Duo E8400 overclocked to 3.8 Ghz or 4.0 Ghz and is getting little or no slowdown.

Could a 600 Mhz - 800 Mhz overclock really make this much of a difference on already powerful processors?

I wonder how much longer before Skid is finally finished with his Fifo work, because it would really be nice to see if it make a difference. Smile

every mainboard is able to clock and E8xxx processor for 600 MHZ! give it another try.... there is a little configuration you had to change... for the fist time a overclocking of 600 MHZ gaved me 4-5 frames in twilight princess...
