Why would you need to encrypt it? Dolphin can't read an encrypted nand (yet)
Download the latest development build of Dolphin and you'll be fine.

Just to be clear, the /nand/ folder goes in C:\Users\*replaceusernamehere*\Documents\Dolphin Emulator\Wii and not C:\Users\*replaceusernamehere*\Desktop\Random programs\Dolphin-x64\Sys\Wii

right?

or is it the other way around; I just backed up my nand and I want to be sure I don't fubar my wii

Yes, that's correct. Don't put anything in Dolphin-x64\Sys\.

so I set the wii nand path to the documents folder path above, got the chance to load the wii system menu 4.3U, didn't, closed the emulator, and immediately got the following error message

"Section IPL.PGS not found in SYSCONF", then said the same for IPL.E60

don't want to keep seeing this everytime, so besides clearing the default nand path in dolphin's settings, anyway to solve this?

Don't replace Dolphin's SYSCONF file (in shared2/sys/) with one from a real console. Every other file in the NAND can be replaced, but not that one. If you don't the Dolphin-generated one on hand anymore, just delete the SYSCONF file and Dolphin will generate a new one.

Well, deleted wii folder leaving only sysconf. Booted 4.1 but when I try to update I get error 32007.

edit. tried another dump of a friend wii (4.3), same error 32007, damn!

Changed country, but no luck. Did a format from the wii menu, didnt help. Accepted internet wii terms, no luck.

Well some news

Using the nand extracted like on first post, will gve error 32007 when tried to update. Extracted the nand with dolphin built in utility, no more 32007.

I have lot of crash here and there, when launching channels from wii menú, but at least I can update system fine.
