Quote:Can't you just browse to the isfs folder in ftpii and download that instead of downloading the .bin file and decrypting it?

I'm not sure how complete the dump is doing it that way. As I understand it, unless you're running in superuser mode, there are quite a few files that you don't have access to normally when browsing through the IOS. But of course, I could be mistaken. I may try doing it that way and compare the results, since I'm pretty sure my NAND dump is complete.

Yes, BootMii is an amazing tool, I'll include it. Also, the folks at WiiBrew have released a tool called NUS Downloader which can download just the system titles, which is great for folks who want to say, just use the Mii channel without bothering with a full dump. So my little article needs some updates. ^_^

I am having problems, I can't properly copy the key down since it's very difficult for me to read the correct key on my television. Does xyyzy dump the keys to a file on the SD card or is there an alternative utility that will dump the keys to a text file on the SD card?

:Edit: I found the key dump file..

Can you be a bit more specific on how to create the nand-key.bin file in the hex editor? I've been trying to make the nand-key.bin, but think I am making it wrong since the extractor fails to dump the nand..

with the newest version of wiiND has a copy of xyzzy that dumps the key directly to nand-key.bin

also Wanikokos FS dumper decrypts the nand and dumps it to SD card (so if you use that you don't have to do anything else, other than copy to the dolphin folder)

How long does it usually take to dump the file system using Wanikoko's dumper? I've had it running for the past 15 minutes, and it still hasn't said that it finished dumping the file system..

I dumped my file system, however when I try to boot it in Dolphin I get a black screen. I dumped it with Wanikoko's file system dumper.

From the sounds of things by what I've been reading is that other member have been able to boot newer versions of the Wii menu, however I seem unable to. Sad

Using Wanikoko's file system dumper is much easier, I couldn't even extract the wii_nand_without_eec.img using the method described in the thread starters post.

I input my nand aes key into a hex editor, saved it as nand-key.bin, and placed it in C:\keys. However extraction failed every time even though it was the correct key and I did what was said.

So I resorted to Wanikoko's dumper, and transferred the files by ftp to my pc...

However for some reason I can't boot the Wii menu, it just sits on a black screen as described above.

Well be for all this nand stuff!
I copyed my "isfs" folder from my Wii by using FTP.
There are 8 folders inside called "import" - "meta" - "shared1" - "shared2" - "sys" - "ticket" - "title" - "tmp" Copyed them to my Wii folder in Dolphin and it worked!
But there is no images and names on the channels when i made my SD.RAW file.
So i had a go doing this to see is i can get it to work doing this way! But ever time i do it, It keeps saying this "zestig.exe.stackdump" Not showing any 8 folders.

So i am better of doing it the old way on copying the "isfs" what as the 8 folders inside of it.
