Hey together.
I am browsing this Forum every day and every day I see a new Post like "Is my sensorbar broken?" etc.

This is a small Tutourial with that you can check if your Sensorbar is broken.
It also explains , how you can play without a Sensorbar without losing any functions.

If you think your Infraredbar is broken, means every button of the Wiimote is working + the Joystick of the Nunchuck is working, just the movement of the cursor isnt recognized, just put 2 candles with ~20cm distance parallel side by side.Should look like here :

If the movement of the pointer is now recognized, buy a new Sensorbar or just use 2 candles if you dont want to waste your money at all.

you can also use anything at all that emits IR as a temporary sensor bar.

hell, you can even point the wiimote at the sun but that's probably not a good idea for the long term

I used two old TV remotes and set a weight on a button & set them 20cm apart, it worked, though weakly.

hahaha i knew that tv remotes are working Big GrinBig Grin
thanks for the proof

and how to test your sensorbar...
use your handy or digicamera

point it on your sensorbar
and you should see the 2 ir's
if you see only one its broken
if you see 2 everything is fine
if you see 0 check the powerwire
(99% of all cases the user is the one who is damaging electronic parts
in 1% god has send a lighting into your house)
