Can someone tell me where I can get Rawdump, the link is broken...
By the way, this is my first ever post here on the forum, please be nice. I used google and I only got weird and suspicious torrents and websites, and I am not clicking on any of them 06-01-2011, 07:27 PM
Hi, I was wondering if anyone (besides myself) has tried rawdump with Optiarc DVD RW AD-7561S AH03. From what I can tell, if the program wouldn't work with this drive, I should get an error message. So far whenever I try a dump the program freezes until I take the disk out of my drive. I was wondering if this would hint that it does not work with my drive or if I'm just not allowing it enough time to dump. Any help with my situation would be greatly appreciated

LG Bluray Burner "HL-DT-ST BD-RE BH10LS30"
does not work, not even ejecting because access attempts seem to infiniteloop. next I try an rather expensive plextor dvd burner und 2 other dvd drives (04-09-2011, 10:32 AM)satannuts Wrote:(04-07-2011, 02:05 PM)RickSummon Wrote: I just purchased an HL-DT-STDVD-ROM GDR8164B0B10 drive on eBay and connected it to my computer with an IDE-to-USB interface. I confirmed that it can read ordinary DVDs, but it cannot dump any Wii or Gamecube games using Rawdump 2.0 or 2.1. Even more than that, Rawdump will never run more than once without requiring a reboot. Attempting to run it again will do nothing, though it will still show up in Task Manager. I have Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit. Yeah, I had the same problem here. When I insert a Wii disc (Zelda TP) on Win7 x64 it just goes into infinite loop mode and I can't even start rawdump (it only suddenly starts when I eject the disc again, if I start it and then insert the disc it simply hangs up). And friidump doesn't even get to the point where it would say "Initializing DVD drive". After reading your post I dug out my old Thinkpad R32 (yay for 1.7 GHz) with WinXP SP2 on it... and apparently, it works! Stupid thing though is that it only has USB 1.0, so it tells me right now that there are 6 hours remaining. But anyway, THANKS! BTW I've connected the drive via IDE-to-USB (since I don't have any more IDE ports on my mainboard and also none on the Laptop), it is an LG GDR-8164B, firmware ver. 0F08 manufactured Dec. 2007 so this can be added to the working drives (or firmware versions) list. EDIT: Whoops I apparently misread the estimated time, it doesn't say 6hrs remaining but that it will be finished tomorrow morning at 6AM :S Almost 14 hours to go... EDIT2: After friidump decided to stop after 53%, I tried again with rawdump and it took only a bit more than 3 hours!

What is an IDEAL drive to purchase for backing up of Wii and Gamecube games, at relatively quick speeds? Can somebody provide an eBay or Amazon link?
it works well on mine, mine's a Hitachi LG 8164B drive and i dump Wii's on that really smoothly

Drives for dumping http://www.ebay.com/dsc/i.html?LH_SALE_C...dhi=&_udlo= also go for the guy's who have at least around 70 to 100% rating otherwise people who are around 10 to 50% can really rip you off XD, and always look at their ratings as well mate
I used my Wii to get a iso from a disk. CleanRip does a good job. It supports file splitting, so i can transfer parts to my computer on a small flash drive or sd card (i think).
Also i've had to reinstall the hbc about 4 times due to newer versions and none of them have ever bricked my wii.
I liked the part where it worked, except there was no such part.
