The exploit relies on the old firmware in supported drives, and there are no known current drives with firmware that is vulnerable to the exploit. If you can't find one of the compatible USB drives on eBay, you'll just have to buy a Wii.

It's probably easier and possibly even cheaper to buy a used Wii anyway; they aren't very expensive.

[color=#000080]As I feared, none of my DVD drives work at home (HL-DT-ST DVDRAM GUB0N on my MSI laptop, ATAPI/DVD A DH16A6S/YA16 on a 2008 Packard Bell PC, a LG drive already listed here on a 2005 Medion PC and... a noname DVD drive from a 2001 MSNet computer) with Rawdump...
However, I tried friidump 0.5.3 afterwards, which is the same as rawdump but in command-line and more options. And I actually discovered that you can "force" the dump on some incompatible drive, using method 9, normally for Hitachi drives. This "trick" only works on some others drives (on mines, the ATAPI DVD from 2008 and the noname drive from 2001). BUT, this should be considered as an ultimate last resort. As I said, this does not work on all drives. Moreover, this is super ultra mega slow. The 2008 PC is currently trying to dump Goldeneye 007, a 4 GB dual-layer disc, and even with a average displayed speed of 72 MB/s, scheduled time to complete is about... 5 days. Spoiler: MSI Desktop: Intel Core i7-9700K 3.6 GHz/4.7 GHz, 32 Go DDR4, NVidia GeForce RTX 2080, 512 Go SSD + 2 To HDD, Windows 10 Professional x64 Insider Preview (Slow Ring)... and of course latest Dolphin x64 development build! 08-13-2018, 03:27 AM

What slim drive can I buy for dump gamecube and wii games?

Thanks, but I need a slim drive, so I was thinking of combining business with pleasure.
