Diagram is correct.

Probaly using shorter cables and 2 grounds will help. USB cable shouldnt be longer than 40cm from module to male usb plug if you are using bad quality cables.

And finally, as you can see on point 8.3 from datasheet, 2 capacitors are recommended. One on Vin and one on Vout. But i think it should work without them.

The connections are correct.
I was able to get the board recognized as a generic BT adapter by Windows but I couldn’t keep them in the right position and glue them.
I will keep trying another day now that I know the cabling is fine… Thanks for all your help. I will follow your recommendation and use shorter cables.

I was able to assemble it!  Big Grin
I bought a new 30w welder and a Goot R-48SB soldering tip. It really makes a difference!
Thanks for all your help!!! My recommendation for anyone who is trying to assemble the WII BT module is to use a good welder with a tip for smd.

Great to know is working.

No need to put the 3.3v regulator that far from bt module. Long cables will introduce noise to signal.

I made mine like a year ago and used shortest cables possible Big Grin

Even put the 3,3v regulator on the back of the bt module.

My idea was to build two modules
I built a second one for another computer. I bought three Wii BT modules just in case I made a mistake, so now I still have one left for the future ?

I got error code 43 again with this one, Dodgy but using a tester I checked that all three 3.3V points were fine. The problem was in the data cables welding. Luckily, I managed to fix it in a flash.
I hope my adventures encourages everyone who is unsure about embarking on this project.

PD: I used long cables again ☹ But both modules seems to work fine.

Well, if they work fine, dont change anything! Big Grin

Once you know they work fine for a couple of days, maybe you can use that hot glue guns? Not sure the exact name, but putting a small amount on the regulator pins and on the bt module solder pads, will prevent cables from touching between them and protect the pads from getting ripped from the board.
