How to wire a Wii's Bluetooth Module to a PC USB Port

Yes please! I'd love to get one of these sorted - if I'm not mistaken this is the best solution for Bluetooth on Dolphin isn't it?

Excuse me, how many mA output should be the regulator? Don't I need a capacitor?

This may be easy to wire up, but I advise you not to unless you know what you are doing. If you aren't careful you can short something out, and possibly damage your computer. People are working on PCBs for this project, and I would advise waiting for those if you aren't sure.

I just registered to say thank you. I bought a wii bluetooth adapter for $1 in ali. Soldering it was quite simple, and since I have a crimp tool for dupont I made a custom plug for a mini breadboard.




My old crappy bluetooth adapter did not support passthrough nor more than 1 wiimote in non-passthrough mode. With this adapter passthrough is flawless for 2 wiimotes.

BTW, the datasheet of the BCM2045 says it's got an internal regulator that accepts noisy voltages between 1.8V and 3.6V. I tried replacing the 3.3V external regulator with three diodes in series (which drop the voltage to ~2.3-2.7V, depending on the load) and the module still works as well as with 3.3V. It may be a quick and dirty solution for people who don't have an LM1117 at hand.

I built mine with a $3 (ebay) regulator and they are the same size which is nice. I have shaky hands and the pads are pretty small but I was able to get it working. Legos make a great case and it matches my diy sensor bar, I can just snap it right on top.

Nice, I looked this guide up after the dongle I bought for Bluetooth passthrough wasn't giving me a stable connection. I had two dusty old Wiis laying around, on my first try I lost one of those zinc(??) contacts, so I gave up on that chip.

The second time I got it to work perfectly. Just keep working at it guys. The chips are cheap enough to mess up a couple times.

Like everyone else, I can connect as many Wii remotes and remote accessories and Bluetooth passthrough works as seamlessly as the real Wii. It even has a little button on top for the sync functionality (as useless as it is using on a PC  )

Has anybody been able to make a really clean version of these adapters?

It seems like the absolute cleanest would be finding a breakout board for that socket (?) on the Wii Bluetooth module (instead of having to wire to the pads) but I've read it's a proprietary design by Nintendo?

I think I saw one of the devs (maybe degasus) saying that there were plans for Dolphin to release an official adapter kit which contained everything except the adapter itself (including a case), and which connected via the plug. There is, however, a chance that I dreamt this.

Otherwise, someone could do a 3d printed case design for people to print out. It might not make anything easier, but the end result would be neater.

For me? Just slather it with electric tape and super glue and I'm happy.
