I am wanting to know how I may speed up Dolphin so that it may run smoothly even when 4 players are playing, say, Mario Kart Wii all while keeping great graphics. I feel I have the hardware for it. I have an AMD Phenom II 4x 965 Processor (3.4GHz), an HD4870 1GB video card and 8GB DDR 3 ram. I'm using Windows 7 64 bit. Thanks.

nice computer specs
![]() try the newest dolphin build and use directx 11 plugin but also update your video drivers that should give you a increase of speed in dolphin 08-28-2010, 07:51 PM

DirectX11 is performing like garbage on my computer. I get atleast 10FPS less with DX11 than with DX9
We should wait until it's stable enough, to recommend it to anyone instead of dx9.

I have absolutely no idea what to check or uncheck. I want to have quality video while having it fast. Would anybody be able/willing to help me on this one? Thanks. 08-31-2010, 10:28 PM
try searching the forums. We have a hole thread dedicated to speeding up dolphin.

I am suprised no one has mentioned this. Not only is this the FIRST thing that I would recommend, but it's the thing that is going to make the MOST impact on performance.
Let me ask you a question. Why the hell are you using a processor with an unlocked multiplier at stock frequencies? This makes absolutely no sense what so ever. It's a BLACK EDITION. OVERCLOCK IT!! That's the whole point of a black edition processor!!. If you don't understand how to overclock a processor google it. It's relatively easy. But then seeing as how you didn't understand this to begin with, I'm not suprised you're having issues. Just so you know, I run every WII / GC game at full speed at 3.8ghz Phenom II x6 1055t. Yours will do the same, and chances are very good that you will reach 3.8ghz~4ghz with that Phenom II x4 964 BE. |
