I'd like to download the latest Dev build but not lose my saves on my PC. Dolphin never made a /users folder like I see in some Faqs online via googling so not sure where saves are saved exactly.

Dolphin uses a Global Directory, and everything relating to settings is saved under "C:\Users\<user>\Documents\Dolphin Emulator"

So to update your build, just unpack Dolphin to a folder that ISN'T the install folder of Dolphin 4.0.X, and then run Dolphin.

So after extracting the new dolphin to a folder, I can just outright delete the old folder since everything is saved in the \documents\dolphin emulator folder?

Better to uninstall it to remove any other parts in the system. But it won't delete your data

I never did install it, though. After downloading a dev. release of dolphin I just extract it and run from the folder. Is there a way to install it?

i.e. Dolphin isn't listed in add/delete programs in control panel. Am I just dumb. . .

Ah no, you're good, just delete the old folder. I though you had installed one of the stable releases Smile

Is dolphin 4 able to load version 3.5 saves? When i press F1 to load a save state (copied from Dolphin 3.5 saves folder) game craches and dolphin close. When savestate is created from dolphin version 4, it loads well.

Savestates have incompatibilities between revisions, only ingame saves are safe.

Thank you. I never think of that. Will load my save in 3.5, make a regular (in game) save and export it to V4.
