I am playing super Mario sunshine using xbox 360 wired controller and I am cannot figure out how to press the R button lightly so that i can shoot water while moving, if the trigger is pushed all the way down i stand in one place. Does anyone know how to press the r trigger lightly and have it register?

You set the analogue triggers to the emulated analogue triggers, not the digital ones.
OS: Windows 10 64 bit Professional
CPU: Intel i5 4670K @3.4GHz... for now @4.6GHz with a quick and dirty (yet stable) OC. May get faster in a bit before the end of time.
RAM: 16GB (Down from 24 GB after some was given to siblings)
GPU: Radeon Vega 56
